About the Event
The Symbols
The symbol atop the Black Power Couple’s Brunch crest is an Adinkra symbol, visual symbols that represent concepts, proverbs and aphorisms originating from the Gyaman people of Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire. This particular symbol incorporates “ODO NNYEW FIE KWAN” which symbolizes the power of love, and the message “Love will never lose it’s way”. Or, to paraphrase another adage, “Love never fails”.
The Purpose
The Black Power Couple’s Brunch is a networking and edification brunch centered on the preservation and celebration of Black Love. Indianapolis is home to countless Black business owners, business professionals, lawyers, physicians, authors and creatives. Those same titans of industry are often in loving partnerships with a spouse or significant other, many of whom are also professionals of high stature. Unfortunately, the propensity for Black power couples to thrive is often challenging to navigate as competing ambitions, imposter syndrome, balance shifts in earning power, along with and the demands of juggling child care, home upkeep and a personal relationship, (often in that order) get in the way of love and affection. We aim to disrupt that.
The vision for this inaugural event is for Black Couples to break bread and share collective wisdom through their trials and triumphs, while participating in guided discussions on topics that can strengthen and embolden the power of black love.
The Soundtrack
What’s love without tunes to set the tone. Music is tied intimately to countless memories over our lives, this is especially true in relationships. Songs that bring you back to the time where you were looking for love, fell in love, and when you decided to lock that love down. We need a maestro up for the challenge of curating songs that would match the energy of the event.

The Soundtrack
Providing the smooth jazz stylings to accompany the devouring of delectable Breakfast/Lunch entrees in a true feast of the senses at the 2025 Black Power Couples Brunch; give it up for saxophonist Peyton Womock!
As a professional saxophonist, his performances seamlessly blend genres such as smooth Jazz, Funk, R&B, Hip-Hop/Rap, and Pop. He is most known for delivering popular covers beloved by audiences while also sharing original compositions that showcase his unique style and artistry.
Throughout his career, he has built a public brand that reflects on his passion, energy and personal journey, affording the privilege of performing alongside such renowned artists as Lil Nas X, Bootsy Collins, and After 7 among other Emmy and Grammy winning creatives while garnering over 66 million impressions across platforms such as Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit and Instagram.
It is this same passion and flair for artistry that Peyton Womack graces the 2025 Black Power Couples Brunch as one more element to create a memorable experience for all attendees.

Today was so beautiful! RJ and I attended the Black Power Couples Brunch (SOLD OUT)! It was absolutely incredible! Beautiful couples, 🔥 food and drinks, music that set the tone and mood, wonderful dialogue on how to have a successful marriage/partnership while maintaining powerful careers, juggling family, and experiencing life together, enjoyed a fancy photo shoot, and decor that was totally mesmerizing. Just top tier all around! We were blessed to be surrounded with that much black love! Can’t wait for the next event!
